Library Renovation Closure

Library Closed

August 22, 2023 until September 5, 2023

                                                                                                                                                   

Things to Note: 

During this time our carpet is being replaced, so all our shelving will have to be moved.  

For these two weeks staff will have limited access to the building so many services will not be available and no one will be able to come into the building.  

We are encouraging everyone to stock up the week before we close and we will extend the due date as necessary for items coming due during this time. 

In addition, we are Late Fine Free so all late fines are waived when items are returned. 

For full library services during this period your Carstairs library card will work at: Olds Library, Cremona Library and Didsbury Library and they will be very happy to help you while we are unavailable.  

We apologize for the inconvenience but look forward to welcoming you back to our fresh space September 5 with full library services available. 

Services Still Available:

      1. Book Drop will be available for returns
      2. All online and electronic services will be available
      3. Staff can be reached by leaving a phone message or emailing carstairs@prl.ab.ca

What about my Hold Items?

All items received before we closed will be held until a week after we reopen.  We will receive our first delivery of new hold items on September 6th.  If you have items you'd like to receive while we are closed you will have to change your pickup location to Olds, Cremona or Didsbury libraries the week before we close.  If you are not familiar with how to change this please call 403-337-3943 or visit us in person and we would be happy to help. 

What about my Returns?

Our outdoor return slot will be open for returns and staff will be in as possible to check these items in.  We are Fine Free so any charges that might appear will be waived as we check the items back in.  If you aren't able to stop by you can hang onto your items until we reopen or visit one of our neighbor libraries (Olds, Didsbury and Cremona) and return items there.
